Jinny Pearce & Doug Heise
Jinny Pearce and Doug Heise are artists who live and work
in San Francisco. They are both married to each other. They
like to take walks and photos, make movies, and write poems.
Sometimes they draw pictures of things they see. Jinny attends
the San Francisco Art Institue. Doug works in a building with
lots of windows. Yesterday they saw a whole flock of Bohemian
Waxwings in a tree near their house.

A CASTRO RENGA
We saw rain clouds over Marin
We had planned to stay in
But felt new Fennel shoots on Castro Hill instead
Sitting on blankets, snuggling

SHUT INS
He likes to watch Chinese television with the sound
turned off. He flips on the TV as soon as he gets home,
turns to channel 26 and hits the mute button. He likes
the historical dramas the best. The colorful costumes
make him smile. There’s always someone wearing a big
hat and someone made up to look like a monkey.>>>

SHUT IN #6: THE GARBOLOGIST -
Bobby was a freelance garbologist, or as he preferred to call himself, an independent suburban archeologist. The obscurity of darkness helped to ensure the anonymity of his research and the relative passivity of his subjects. Anyway, he didn’t sleep much. His work was solitary, unlicensed, open-ended. It was lonely work, but rewarding. >>> |
