DEANNE
Deanne grew up, straddling her fathers knee, hollered
at by her mother. She had beautiful round cheeks and
still gray eyes. A mushroom is glossy and pure before
the maggots come. >>>

A HERO OF EVERYDAY LIFE
Bloy stood on the platform, absolutely exposed to the
light of day, yet not the sun, which was low and concealed
by a gray city sky. The express train passed by, and
he saw the people in a blur; not individually, but as
segments of a whole. He adjusted his tie, though instead
of straightening, it became more disarranged. It was
made of silk and was blue. Blue with small dots, which
were also blue, but of a lighter blue. There were other
men wearing ties, and he wondered if they too were conscious
of the fact, as of a snake around the neck.>>>
