Erin Johansen (MonkeyGirl)
Erin (a.k.a. monkeygirl), M10K's poetry editor, likes monkeys.
A lot. She wants to be one when she grows up.
When she isn't spending time grooming and foraging, she is
sometimes spotted as the editor of GirlChick.com,
a sassy, evocative third-wave feminist webzine. Erin produced
ForWord Girls,
the first national women's spoken word festival, with a group
of San Francisco poets in September 2002. She currently hosts
Poetry Mission, an open mic poetry event in San Francisco,
and performs around the city. A former journalist turned geek
grrl, Erin also likes guacamole. A lot. She says to send her
avocados.

Last night, without thinking,
I left out the frozen peas.

Last night my best friend told me

change their bad habits like dirty diapers.

till there's nothing left but a dry tit
and a broken relationship.
