I am a Canadian living in England. A former tattoo artist,
I now offer donkey rides on local beaches. I hum Cowboy Junkie
songs in the shower and Coltrane in bed. I am unpublished
but I regularly photocopy my writings and leave them on car
windshields.

THE TEMPERED STAYS
There is a sharp snap to my immediate left. A suited
woman looks me in the eyes and bellows. "What are you
waiting for? Move along. Money to earn. Money to earn.
We can't all be standing around like you."
