In 2003 I escaped from my native Carbondale, Pennsylvania, to pursue a B.A. in English at Ursinus College. I recently lived on the banks of the River Lee in Cork, Ireland, for five months; it was my first time seeing Europe, or anywhere, for that matter. I traipsed around the rest of Ireland and some of western Europe, seeing Dublin, Belfast, Derry, Paris, Strasbourg, Cologne, Malaga, and Seville, among other places. Europe was an amazing place and quite a head trip and I loved it – I’ve vowed to return someday, even if I’ve got a wife and a couple kids tagging along and far less hair. All things considered, I’m glad to be back in the states, despite the fact that my heart sank a bit when I stepped off my return flight, looked around at all the highways and traffic and people in a hurry, and realized I was back in Newark.

My stories have been published on acid logic and in The Lantern, Ursinus College’s literary magazine. I’m currently at Ursinus doing research on D.H. Lawrence and goofing off. Many thanks to Ashley Higgins for the photo.
