Adam L Brinklow

Born in Berkely, moved to a small town in northern California two years later, have been trying to escape it ever since (no luck so far, but keep your fingers crossed). Graduated High School last year, just started attending college a mere three weeks ago.

Basically, I spend most of my life watching other people, and marveling at how freakin' weird they are. I've always been of the opinion that the world would be a better place if everyone could see themselves as they are percieved by other people. I also believe that no two people can have the exact same experience in the exact same way, and that everyone's life is changed by their perception of it. That's why my (eventual) anthology will be called "Altered States" (assuming that name's not already taken), and will be about people who basically put their own little spin on the real world.

THREE DRINK MINIMUM
Rodney was the sort who firmly believed that there was no problem in life that couldn't be solved with a good, stiff drink, or, failing that, several good, stiff drinks. And, since he was the sort of guy with a lot of problems, he was entitled to a lot of drinks.>>>

FOLLOW THE LEADER
It was the one thing he could rely on, the only constant. It was the anchor. It gave him meaning, purpose, definition. It was food to the starving, sight to the blind, wine to a parched throat. If The Calls ever stopped coming, Patrick wasn't sure he could keep going. He would just sit by the phone, day and night, until he starved to death. He hated it. But he loved it too. It was all he had. It was him.>>>

MECHANICAL SOUL
He owed a lot to The Order. They had given him so very much. 42 years ago they had processed him from recycled tissue samples, and assigned him 231 years with which to serve. They gave him his post here at 947-C, and demanded only 132 hours of work from him each week. This was quite generous, compared to the monstrous workload of a Warden or Monitor. And of course, they gave him his stasis suit, without which he could live but a pittance of 78 years. Yes, they gave him so much; he wanted for almost nothing. Almost... >>>

THE 2ND AMENDMENT BLUES
So, it looks like you’re facing some pretty serious jail time on this one, yes?

Well, that remains to be seen. My lawyers are working around the clock to get my case thrown out. Not only was the police search blatantly unconstitutional, but my establishment is clearly protected by the Second Amendment of the US constitution. I assure you this matter will never see court. >>>

TRAGICALLY POST-MODERN MALE, 2K
They found him
The very next morning
And they gathered around
To point
And Stare
And ask
Always
The same question
“Why?” >>>
