MOVIE

A pair of short pieces about art in familiar places. About taking what is close at hand and turning it into something else.

Untitled #1: Jin scratched and scribbled on a strip of 16mm leader to make her first hand drawn film (no camera required). We remember seeing a Len Lye retrospective at the PFA in Berkley. Both of us mesmerized by the dancing lines in "Free Radicals".

Apartment Alphabet: Doug shot this on miniDV in a frenzied burst of caffeine and deadline fueled creativity. The music is a chopped up version of "God Moves on the Water" by Blind Willie Johnson (not to be confused with Blind Lemon Jefferson). Johnson's redition of "John the Revelator" on the Anthology of American Folk Music gives us major chills.
